Spelling Lists

I will post the new spelling list each week, including the challenge words. On a typical week, the students will pre-test on Monday, and then have a final test on Friday. These lists come directly from our Wonders Language Arts series. They do start out fairly easy and usually are related to the phonics' lessons from the previous week. Please take a few moments each night to not only practice their spelling, but also use each word in a sentence (aloud is fine!) each night.

Tired of paper/pencil quizzing on the lists?!? Try a variety of methods to keep it interesting! Some suggestions:

spellingcity.com (a great website that offers a variety of games for each individualized list--just search my name and the week we're working on.)
practice on a Magna-Doodle board
use refrigerator magnets
write in markers/colored pens/crayons
stamp them out
type them
write them with a finger in shaving cream on a cookie sheet
use fun paper
form a crossword puzzle shape out of them
type them in wordle.com and print out your results
alphabetize them
just be creative!!
